Camille was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA and is a recent graduate of Sonoma State University. She is currently employed by Korbel Champagne Cellars as a Human Resources Representative. When she isn't working she enjoys spending as much time possible on the dance floor.
Camille was first inspired to begin dancing at age 13 by her mother. Her mom was a competitive Country Western couples dancer for over 10 years and eventually convinced her daughter to give it a shot also. While Camille has moved beyond having her mother as her coach… her mom will forever be her dance costume seamstress!
Camille began competing in Country Western style dance, which included Waltz, East and West Coast Swing, Two-Step, Three Step, Western Cha Cha and Night Club Two Step. After a couple years of lots pf practicing, traveling and competitions, Camille and her partner won title of International Junior Couple Champion in 1996 in Reno, Nevada. After "retiring" from Country Competition at the age of 17 she began taking courses in other forms of dance, including Modern, Jazz, Jitterbug and Hip-Hop.
She recently began taking salsa dance lessons on a whim, back in February of 2005. She soon became interested in learning more and began dancing on Jose Santamaria's salsa team called Sangre Latina around March 2005. Since then she has made many new friendships, improved her salsa skill and technique levels and most importantly has a GREAT time!
Camille is very dedicated to the Sangre Latina team and hopes to remain on it for years to come.
